Matter of Software’s in-house experts can deliver a wide range of unique websites whether based on an open-source platform or a CMS (Drupal, WordPress etc). We deliver a one-stop shop and provide advice and guidance to ensure that your website not only looks great but the content delivers conversions (after all your website is just as much about the content as it is the design if not more). We are often asked about our process (as this shows our core values and differentiation from our competitors), our typical process is as follows:
Advice – free, uncomplicated and non-technical advice. We understand what you are trying to achieve and provide options which often achieve your objectives in a variety of ways (this includes whether to use a CMS, open-source platform or perhaps split functionality). We ensure we understand your needs, we challenge your thinking and highlight possible areas for improvement and thought.
Design – our designers work with you and any existing branding to create designs of each page and demonstrate the flow through the website. This helps you to visualise the end result, understand the flow and highlight any gaps in understanding prior to development (its also useful you to share with other stakeholders and receive honest feedback).
Development – we develop using the most appropriate platform for you and your business using the latest software, our source control and development processes ensure the highest degree of quality. Our development team test rigorously including peer testing and across a wide variety of device types and browsers.
Testing – we test, you test – this stage includes optional system testing (testing performance, stress testing and recovery testing). We capture, resolve and report on all raised issues in a timely manner to provide complete visibility of issue resolution.
Training – we provide optional training to help teach your key users how to support the application.
Deployment – our team manage the deployment to either your hosting provider or to our own UK hosted data centre.
Support – we provide ad-hoc or unlimited application support – our objective with all solutions is to reduce the administration effort required for you applications – our target is always near zero administration (we do this by planning what might require admin effort and overcoming that within the design/development).
Client: Peak Learning/The Managers Toolkit
Peak Learning have developed a comprehensive Managers toolkit that supports managers in providing guidance and tools (forms) in ensure the Manager has suitable guidance for all eventualities. The requirement was to implement a solution that would allow the paper based toolkit to be delivered electronically. Peak Learning needed to manage their clients along with their clients managers access – offering different toolkit sections in packages. The site should be secure, offer video, allow forms to be completed online and saved/printed as well as offering sections to manage actions arising from forms, webinars, blogs and a tooltip of the day.
We crafted a public and administrative software as a service online solution based on open source software. To ensure the speed of the site we coupled a Content Delivery Network to ensure videos/images are delivered quickly to the user on any device. We enabled monitoring of all actions of users throughout the site to support fault finding and to be able to provide support guidance on the best usage of the site (whilst supporting management reports on site usage). We crafted a number of designs and user flows through the site for agreement with Peak Learning and settled on a design that was on brand, intuitive to use and lent itself to supporting multiple designs. We continue to host and provide application support to ensure the team at Peak Learning can continue their value add work whilst leaving the maintenance (and ad hoc tasks) to us to manage.
