What are the key components of the role?

As a Business Analyst at Matter of Software you will ensure the successful delivery of projects and services. This role is part of the key interface between our projects team, technology team and our clients. Your understanding of business operations across industries and their processes will help to by determining the requirements of a project, and you will clearly communicate these to stakeholders. You will also map and document business processes and technical requirements for new requirements and changes. You’ll be a self-starter who is confident in front of clients, has an immense attention to detail and can communicate technical requirements in a non-technical manner.

You will be part of the Product Owners & Quality team, working across the business to ensure we deliver exactly what we have promised our clients. You will develop a deep understanding of our clients, their needs and project requirements. In this role you’re your day to day tasks will include but not limited to:

  • Produce and express requirements using conversations, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyse information needs and functional requirements
  • Create detailed functional designs and process flows, using Agile methodologies and tools; story writing and validation including conditions of satisfaction
  • Map and document current and future business processes using standard tools and to agreed standards

What skills and experience do we think are required…

  • Business Analyst experience (at least 1year relatable experience), including experience in full lifecycle software projects, operating, managing, and delivering results in a Business Analyst role
  • BCS Certification
  • Experience with B2B and B2C technology / software products
  • Strong technical understanding (specifically APIs, Microservices, Cloud Architecture, Data Pipelines)
  • Highly analytical, able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, and to prioritise workload effectively in a fast moving and complex environment.
  • Deep understanding of the design of robust application solutions to support business requirements.
  • Strong understanding of effective Project Management principles. – (Agile and waterfall)
  • Effective planning and organisation skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills including influencing, facilitating, negotiating and communicating at all levels
  • Excellent analysis and documentation skills
